Let us give you a glimpse behind the Corpse Bride veil: a pleasant and inspiring workplace, steeped in personal growth, is essential for empowering your employees. But that’s not all! Consider opportunities for skill development, contributions to organisational goals, and an environment where job satisfaction is central.

Technology can be the driving force behind improving the Employee Experience (EX). It strengthens growth and development, keeps a finger on the pulse of job satisfaction, and provides tools with which employees can focus better.

Week van de digitale vaardigheden 2023 Recovered Citizen Development 06

Citizen development in practice: This is how you enchant employees to get started

In the dead of afternoon, in a seemingly ordinary office building, a mysterious figure embarked on a sinister mission: to enchant unsuspecting employees, who, to their surprise, would develop extraordinary powers the next day. Within one afternoon, they learned to transform outdated systems into hypermodern, efficient tools.

This happens on Halloween during Digital Skills Week. During this session, you’ll discover the power of the Power Platform. We regularly preach that anyone can get started with this platform, but for many employees, it can seem overwhelming. During this workshop, everyone can learn how to transform cumbersome applications (from SAP or AFAS, for example) into a modern look and make them more user-friendly using Low-Code and No-Code.

Do you dare to be enchanted? Then join this session and learn how to transform old, cumbersome software into fast, flexible, and customised solutions without reinventing the wheel.

Week van de digitale vaardigheden 2023 Information protection

This way, employees and IT work together to keep data out of the hands of villains

It’s terrifying. Because imagine if your data falls into the hands of digital villains? That risk is real. After all, you regularly see ‘unintentionally violating the GDPR’, ‘knowledge in foreign hands’ or ‘cybercriminals demanding ransom’ in the media. And that’s why it’s high time to limit your data loss.

Not only does IT play a role in this, but employees can also help by actively contributing to a safer working environment. Don’t scare them, but be aware of the potential dangers of sharing documents. Because even the most innocent-looking public networks can hide dark intentions from the unwitting eye.

Collaboration between organisation and technology is necessary to find the right balance between productivity and safety. But what is the right balance? Where do you start? What impact do measures have on users?

During Digital Skills Week, we’ll discuss these and other questions during a roundtable with other organisations. Together we’ll stir the pot and share our secrets about information protection. Want to join us?

Week van de digitale vaardigheden 2023 Schimmen van kennis

Shades of Knowledge: Navigate the Digital Darkness with Viva Connections

Many valuable documents and files are hidden deep in the basements of the digital office building. Being able to find those documents depends on good training from direct colleagues or on having above-average skills in searching for information. Because these preconditions are often not present, a lot of valuable information is not used, or even worse, ‘reinvented’. Searching for information and ‘bothering’ colleagues to find something also results in a large amount of hidden unproductivity every day. This means that an alarming proportion of workable hours are lost in every organisation, every week.

The search function of Microsoft 365 has improved significantly in recent years, but still, less than 40% of employees use this powerful tool correctly. In addition to training employees in the use of Microsoft Search, the Microsoft product Viva Connections can also play a positive role. Viva Connections is a free extension to SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams and makes it easier for employees to discover and consume information via SharePoint, and via the Microsoft Teams desktop and on a smartphone via the Teams mobile app.

This session is about the skills of search and the possibilities that Viva Connections has to offer to better connect employees with information.
