The AI Revolution: Insights from Microsoft Ignite and opportunities for growth

Rapid Circle has wrapped up at Microsoft Ignite in Chicago, and the key takeaway is just how evident it is that we’re witnessing a monumental shift in the technology landscape. Surprise, surprise – the rapid adoption of AI (the generative and information kind) is transforming how businesses operate, innovate, and grow. It marks a new era of opportunity for organisations like ours to lead and deliver meaningful change, backed by our unique change and adoption model alongside our expertise in data governance and security.

Microsoft’s SMC organisation, now the largest within the company, serves tens of millions of SMBs globally. This underscores the power of delivering transformative technology at scale. With a $661 billion total addressable market for partners and a projected 20 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR), the potential for expansion is enormous. 1

Another significant shift we’re seeing is the growing involvement of CEOs and CFOs in technology decision-making, with these discussions often happening at the board level. Technology strategy is no longer confined to IT departments — it’s a top priority in the executive suite.

This evolution opens the door for Rapid Circle to engage with decision-makers at the highest levels, demonstrating the impact and value we can drive as trusted advisors and strategic partners in organisational transformation. We have launched a Copilot AI Centre of Excellence to show how we can do this. The CoE is an innovation hub where we will experiment with AI technologies, collaborate closely with our customers in Australia and New Zealand, and offer training programs to upskill their employees.

Central to this transformation is Microsoft’s vision of “Copilot on every desk,” which captures how AI is becoming integral to modern work. AI-embedded applications, secure foundational cloud migrations, and a strong emphasis on data security are essential to achieving this vision. The business case for AI is clear: every $1 invested can yield a $3.7 ROI, and for top-tier partners, this can soar to $10.

A recurring theme at Ignite was AI extensibility through agents. Microsoft’s introduction of the Azure AI Agent Service empowers developers to build secure, stateful autonomous AI agents capable of automating complex business processes. These agents integrate seamlessly with knowledge sources like Bing, SharePoint, and Azure AI Search, while Copilot agents enhance Microsoft 365 capabilities by connecting to an organisation’s unique data.

Looking at 2025 and beyond, Rapid Circle will invest in enabling six key opportunities that we discussed heavily at Ignite:

  1. Microsoft 365 Copilot: Doubling down on Copilot adoption aligns perfectly with our ambitions to enable the modern workplace. With our CoE, we can accelerate industry transformation by helping organisations embed AI into their workflows with the right framework that fosters real change.
  2. Modern Work and Data: Leveraging AI in tools like SharePoint revolutionises collaboration and productivity. We can enhance document management, search, and user experience for our clients using our standardised AI solutions which are customised for any industry, business line, or challenge.
  3. Voice Solutions: AI-driven voice tools open new opportunities in customer service and sales enablement. Real-time transcription, sentiment analysis, and Copilot integration are game-changers that are ready to go right now.
  4. Power Platform: Aligning AI agents with Power Platform allows us to build intelligent, automated solutions for enterprises, enhancing workflows and decision-making.
  5. AI-Embedded Applications: Every application is becoming an AI application. We are working to help customers prioritise analytics specialisation and application development to deliver predictive analytics, automation, and personalised solutions.
  6. Security by Design: Microsoft’s Secure Future Initiative highlights the need for secure, compliant AI implementations — a cornerstone of our capabilities.

As AI continues to evolve and shape the future of business, Rapid Circle is uniquely positioned to lead the charge. By leveraging our expertise in AI, cloud migrations, and application modernisation, we can help our clients navigate this transformative journey. Together, we can build a future where technology drives not just productivity, but meaningful innovation and growth, and crucially, empowering professionals to optimise how they work.
