Can you tell us about your current role and project?
In my current role as a Cloud Consultant at Rapid Circle, I work as a SharePoint expert for one of our esteemed customers to help them migrate their SharePoint 2013 application to the cloud. I am also involved in the analysis and planning of migration and new development. Along with this I am also working on development of their workflows and forms in Power Apps, Power Automate, and SPFx.
How did you come to know about Rapid Circle?
Since the beginning of my career, I have been interested in SharePoint and followed the Pune User Group events in Pune. I always admired the speakers from Rapid Circle and wished to join them. Luckily, when I was searching for new opportunities, I found an opening for a Cloud Consultant at RC on LinkedIn. I applied for it and was pleasantly surprised to get a call back for an interview. After a couple of interviews, I became a part of Rapid Circle.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome it?
I joined Rapid Circle as a technical support engineer. Having been a developer from the start of my career, adapting to the processes was challenging for me. However, I received significant support from the team, especially my colleague Shrikant Datke, who became both my mentor and a great friend. Gradually, I showcased my development skills and earned my place as a developer by adopting new technologies like Power Platform, SPFx, and Azure.
How different of a person you are now as compared to when you joined?
Although I was naturally extroverted, I had few opportunities to showcase my skills before joining Rapid Circle. At RC, I was able to develop myself socially and participate in public events. I improved my public speaking skills through these events as well as brown bag sessions within the organization.
Can you recall some of your best memories working here?
The people at Rapid Circle are wonderful. Even on the first day, I did not feel that I was meeting the team for the first time. Every moment I spent at Rapid Circle was special for me. I especially enjoyed the Diwali celebrations, potlucks, and Christmas (Secret Santa) events. I still remember the day when RC hosted an event for school teachers in the office and I was a volunteer. The experience of hosting school teachers and answering their innocent questions about what we actually do on the laptop was amazing.
What do you aim to achieve now (technology-wise, other skills etc)?
As a core developer, I aspire to enhance my skills in the architectural side. I want to master the auditing aspect of SharePoint and gain more experience in analyzing customer’s SharePoint, creating audit reports, and conducting workshops. I also want to acquire people skills to a greater degree.
