Program:
How do we ensure that people in acute psychological distress on the street get the right help, exactly when they need it? During this roundtable we will take you into the practice of Street Triage and show you how technology helps to strengthen cooperation between care providers and organizations.
Street Triage is a collaboration between police, GGZ institutions, ambulance services and municipalities to help people with misunderstood behavior faster and appropriately. In Twente, Street Triage is a joint initiative of Police Unit East Netherlands district Twente, GGZ institutions Dimence and Mediant, Ambulance Oost, Acute Care Euregio and the 14 Twente municipalities. After a successful pilot in 2019, these partners entered into a cooperation in 2022, which is still in effect. The goal is to correctly approach individuals who come into the police’s picture (semi)acutely and quickly refer them to appropriate care.
Ellen Gros of Dimence will share her experiences from the past years of setting up Street Triage in the IJsselland region. She explains how this came about in cooperation with the Dimence Groep, Mediant, 14 municipalities and the police and what lessons can be learned.
An important challenge within Street Triage is the safe and efficient sharing of information between the organizations involved. Together with Rapid Circle, a digital solution was therefore developed, based on the Microsoft Power Platform. This system not only helps capture data, but also enables smooth transfer of information, which is essential for fast and effective emergency response. The solution is being made available to other regions so that more professionals and municipalities can benefit.
During this roundtable you will gain insight into the Street Triage process and how the Microsoft platform supports the realization of practical applications. We will also focus on how to apply for grants for IT Innovation and zoom in on how to organize data integration within the region. Here we will also look at the existing standards and the way to connect to national initiatives.
